Version of 23 October 2026
These terms apply to every rental of the CTRL Department studio, 12 rue Molière, 94200 Ivry-sur-Seine, France. It is operated by CTRL DEPARTMENT, a French SAS with a share capital of €1,000, RCS Paris 107 116 642, registered office 47 rue Vivienne, 75002 Paris (“the Studio”).
The client accepts them by ticking the box when booking online, or by paying the deposit. They prevail over any document of the client, unless the Studio agrees otherwise in writing. Rentals are for businesses only (article 7).
Request: online at ctrl-dept.com/book, the client picks the set, the format, the days and the options, and gives their billing details. They may also write to contact@ctrl-dept.com.
Hold: the requested days are held at once. The client receives by email a secure payment link for the deposit (article 4).
Deadline: the hold lasts 72 hours, less if the rental is sooner; the exact deadline is in the email. Without payment by then, the hold is released automatically and the days become available again.
Confirmation: the booking is firm once the deposit is received. The client then receives the confirmation and the deposit invoice by email.
The Studio may decline a booking for a legitimate reason (safety, nature of the project, capacity). Any sums paid are then refunded in full.
Rates: those shown on the website on the day of booking, in euros excluding tax; 20% VAT is added.
Full day: 9 am to 7 pm. Half day: 5 consecutive hours, slot agreed when booking.
Set-up, take-down and tidying happen within the booked slot; the studio is handed back at the end time.
Overtime: €100 excl. VAT per hour or part of an hour, if the studio is free.
Late arrival: the slot is not extended and remains due in full.
Equipment pack: at the rate shown. Decoration, catering and special requests: on accepted quote.
Deposit: 30% of the rental amount including VAT (excluding options on quote), paid online by card through the secure link of Qonto, the Studio's bank. The Studio never has access to card numbers.
Deposit invoice: issued and emailed as soon as the payment is received.
Balance: the final invoice is issued at the end of the rental. It covers the full amount, overtime and options included, and deducts the deposit already paid. It is payable on receipt, within 8 days at the latest, by bank transfer or card.
Payer: payment may come from a third party (agency, production company, colleague). Invoices are made out to the name and billing address given when booking, which the client guarantees are accurate.
Late payment: penalties equal to three times the French legal interest rate, and a fixed €40 recovery fee (article L441-10 of the French Commercial Code). No discount for early payment.
Cancellations are made by email to contact@ctrl-dept.com; the date of receipt applies. Notice periods run until 9 am on the first booked day.
More than 48 hours before: deposit refunded in full.
Less than 48 hours before, or no-show: deposit kept by the Studio.
The rest of the rental is never due for a cancelled booking.
Rescheduling: accepted once, free of charge, if requested at least 3 days before, for a new date within 3 months and subject to availability. The deposit moves to the new date. A later request counts as a cancellation.
Removing days or hours from a booking follows the same rules, for the part removed.
If the Studio cannot provide the rental (damage, major breakdown, administrative closure, force majeure), it informs the client as soon as possible and offers a new date. Failing that, it refunds all sums paid in full, with no further compensation.
An equipment breakdown that prevents the shoot during the rental gives rise to a refund in proportion to the time lost.
Rentals are for businesses only: companies, freelancers, associations. By booking, the client declares acting for the purposes of their business and gives their identification number (SIREN, SIRET or EU VAT number).
The right of withdrawal of the French Consumer Code therefore does not apply.
The Studio may cancel a booking made by a private individual; any sums paid are then refunded in full.
Capacity: 12 people at most at the same time, crew and talent included.
The client is responsible for the people they bring and makes sure they follow these rules.
Not allowed without the Studio's written consent: smoke and smoke machines, flames, confetti and glitter, paint, water and other liquids, sand, animals.
Not allowed anywhere: smoking and vaping.
Food and drinks: in the lounge and catering area only, never on the cyclorama.
Cyclorama: slippers or shoe covers only, provided by the Studio; no tape, nails or screws on the cyclorama or the walls.
The Studio's equipment is used on site, with care, and never leaves the premises.
The studio is handed back tidy, as found, with waste removed.
Noise is kept reasonable for the neighbours.
In case of a serious breach of safety, the Studio may stop the rental, without refund.
The client is liable for any damage to the premises, the cyclorama and the equipment during the rental, caused by them or by the people they brought. Repair, replacement or repainting is charged at actual cost.
The premises are checked on arrival and departure. Without remarks on arrival, the studio is deemed in good condition.
The client holds civil liability insurance (professional liability for businesses) and provides the certificate on request.
Security deposit: for some productions (effects, heavy sets, large crews), the Studio may ask for a security deposit. Its amount is given before confirmation; it is returned after the departure check.
The Studio is not liable for property, equipment and data brought by the client, nor for their loss, theft or damage, unless it is at fault.
The client guarantees holding the necessary rights to what they produce at the studio (talent, brands, works, music).
Images made at the studio belong to the client. Crediting the studio is appreciated, never required.
The Studio publishes no image of a shoot, behind-the-scenes included, without the client's consent.
Personal data: processed as described in the website's legal notice (ctrl-dept.com/legal). Billing data is kept for 10 years, the legal retention period for accounting records.
French law applies. Between businesses, any dispute falls under the Commercial Court of Paris, after an attempt at amicable settlement. The French version of these terms prevails.
